Frequently Asked Questions — Ideal Body Measurements
What is the John McCallum formula?+
John McCallum was a famous bodybuilding writer in the 1960s. He observed that wrist circumference reflects natural bone structure, allowing calculation of optimal body measurements. Formula: Chest = Wrist × 6.5, then all other measurements are derived from Chest using fixed ratios.
How is the Aesthetic Score calculated?+
Score = 100 − (average deviation % from ideal measurements). Example: if you deviate by 10% on average → Score = 90. Score 80–100: Excellent proportions; 60–80: Good balance; <60: Needs improvement.
Why is wrist circumference the base variable?+
Wrist size cannot be changed through training — it reflects your natural bone structure. People with larger wrists have bigger skeletons and thus greater potential to carry muscle mass. This allows personalized targets instead of one-size-fits-all standards.
