Frequently Asked Questions — Kitchen Converter Pro
How many grams is 1 cup of flour?+
1 cup of all-purpose flour ≈ 125g. However, this varies by ingredient: 1 cup sugar ≈ 200g, 1 cup butter ≈ 227g, 1 cup water/milk ≈ 240g, 1 cup honey ≈ 340g. Always use our ingredient selector for accurate conversions.
How do I convert oven temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius?+
Use the formula: °C = (°F - 32) × 5/9. For example: 350°F = (350-32) × 5/9 = 177°C. Common baking temperatures: 325°F = 163°C (slow), 350°F = 177°C (moderate), 375°F = 190°C (moderately hot), 400°F = 204°C (hot).
How do I double a recipe?+
Use our Recipe Scaler: enter your ingredients list (one per line), set original servings to 2 and target to 4. The tool will multiply every quantity by the ratio (2x). One exception: for spices and leavening agents (baking powder/soda), start with 1.5x and adjust to taste.
How do I convert between round and square baking tins?+
We calculate the base area: circle area = π × r², square area = side². The ingredient multiplier = new area ÷ old area. Example: 8" round (area ≈ 201 in²) → 8" square (area = 256 in²): multiplier ≈ 1.27, so increase all ingredients by 27%.
