Frequently Asked Questions — Pomodoro Timer
What is the Pomodoro Technique?+
Pomodoro is a time management method by Francesco Cirillo (1980s): work for 25 minutes, break for 5. Each cycle is called a "pomodoro" (Italian: tomato).
Why 25 minutes?+
25 minutes is long enough for deep focus but short enough to stay motivated. Research shows the brain struggles to sustain focus for more than 45 continuous minutes.
Can I change the timer duration?+
Yes! Use the Settings panel below the timer to adjust focus time, short break, long break, and the number of sessions before a long break.
Is there an audio notification?+
Yes. When each session ends, the tool plays a beep using the Web Audio API. Click the speaker icon to mute.
Are my tasks saved?+
Tasks and pomodoro counts are session-only (in-memory). Closing the tab clears them. Local storage persistence is planned.
