Frequently Asked Questions — Reverse Dieting Calculator
What is Reverse Dieting?+
When you stay in a severe calorie deficit for a long time, your body adapts by slowing its metabolic rate (Metabolic Adaptation). Reverse dieting is the process of slowly adding calories back (+50 to 100 per week) so your metabolism speeds back up without aggressively storing the new food as fat.
Will I gain weight while reverse dieting?+
You may gain 1-2 lbs of water weight as your muscle glycogen stores refill (because you are eating more carbs). However, if you increase slowly (Moderate or Slow rate), actual fat gain will be minimal or zero.
