JPG files are much smaller than PNG for photos, making them faster to upload and share. PNG is better for graphics with sharp edges and transparency; JPG is better for photographic content.
Will my transparent background be preserved?+
No. JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas will be filled with white. If you need transparency, keep the PNG format.
What quality should I use?+
0.85 (85%) is a good default — it gives small file sizes with barely noticeable quality loss. For print use 0.95+, for web thumbnails 0.70–0.80.
